Özet: The purpose of this study is to lay emphasis on the significance of recently improving rural tourism in terms of sustainability. Alongwith the speeding globalization, there has been an increasing interest for tourism sector. As a result of the rise in the educational level, peoplehave an increasing demand for seeing and getting to know the natural beauties and cultural features of different regions and countries.Consequently, alternative tourism types have occurred and people have turned towards natural, cultural, archeological and historical wealthinstead of sea tourism. One of the alternative tourism types, Rural Tourism have also risen in importance. As Turkey is quite rich in terms ofthese resources; Gaziantep province hosts the finest natural, archeological and cultural heritage in Turkey. Gaziantep, which occupies animportant position in Turkey’s economy together with sizable investments in the field of industry and commerce and its growth, drawsattention with its rural tourism activities. As a result of applying these activities, employment and welfare in the province have improved; andaccumulation of population in certain areas has been prevented through hampering immigration from rural areas to big cities.
