The plant species having a wide range of usewas introduced to our country through Yalova Horticultural Research Institute in 1980 at where the adaption trials have been conducted. Thesaplings propagated in Yalova Horticultural Research Institute were distributed into Marmara region, into Adana province through ÇukurovaUniversity, into Mersin province through Alata Horticultural Research Institute and into Antalya province through Citrus Research Institutewhere adaptation trials were set to start. With the help these distributions small scale orchards for Feijoa fruit have been conducted but not inlarge scale. Owing to its nutritive field by nutritional value and its medicinal and pharmacological field by biochemical contents, although not inour fruit consumption custom, Feijoa will have a potential to mention itself in upcoming years. Adaption trials and completred cultivar selectionstudies of Feijoa within in the shortest possible time are necessary for our country’s fruit cultivation and commercialization.
