Özet: Pulverized coal (PC) is charged to the blast furnace along with metallurgical coke, but it cannot be used as a substitute for metallurgical coke completely. Metallurgical coke not only serves as fuel in the blast furnace, but also performs functions such as regulating the gas permeability of the furnace, ensuring uniform distribution of iron ore and flux materials in the furnace and reducing thermal stresses. Pulverized coal injection (PCI) system also has some positive and negative effects on the blast furnace. It is necessary to eliminate or minimize the negative effects and make the most of the positive effects. Using PCI with high efficiency is possible by optimizing all parameters in the blast furnace. All factors and process parameters that need to be optimized during pulverized coal injection must be within an optimum range of values. In this study, the effects of quality values obtained before and after the use of PCI as fuel in an integrated iron and steel factory on blast furnace performance were investigated.
