Özet: It has been aimed to evaluate physical education teachers working in different cities of Turkey based on the opinions of students taking physical education course. In this research, a screening model which is one of the quantitative research approaches was used. In the study, Assessment of Physical Education Teacher Based on Student Opinions Scale developed by Kayışoğlu (2015) was used. The scale consists of 48 items and includes a 5-level Likert-type scale. In this study, data were collected by simple random method from 1078 participants in a secondary school and, volunteer students from a high school where the most physical education teachers were employed in the cities in seven geographical regions, in accordance with the purposive sampling method. Research data were collected in the spring semester of 2018-2019 academic year. As a result of the analyzes, it was seen that there was a difference in negative behavior dimension according to student gender, general performance, lesson performance and negative behavior dimensions according to teacher gender and more positive opinions about female teachers. There was no difference in school performance by school and age. Course performance does not differ according to school level and age. There was a difference in general performance, course performance and negative behavior dimensions according to class variable. According to the findings of the study, while there was no significant difference between male and female students for general performance and course performance dimensions, it was found that female students had higher average in negative behavior dimension. In addition, it was understood that students had more positive opinions about female teachers for all dimensions of the applied scale. Besides, it was seen that middle school students had more positive opinions than general high school students in terms of general performance dimension. Accordingly, the average performance and negative behavior dimensions of the scale differ according to the age of the student.
