Özet: BlaBlaCar is a communication platform for online carpooling, which is ranked among the world's largest online platforms. Travels via the BlaBlaCar platform in Turkey are becoming more and more widespread. In order to determine the rules to be applied in the resolution of possible disputes regarding BlaBlaCar transports, it is a fortiori a necessity to determine the legal nature of these journeys. The mentioned requirement of determining the legal nature of BlaBla- Car transports constitutes the purpose of this study. In this study, general information about the BlaBlaCar platform was first given and the system of BlaBlaCar was explained. Afterward, the legal nature, definition, and elements of the transport contract and volunteer transportation were examined, and it was questioned whether these concepts could define BlaBlaCar transports. Finally, it was examined whether the legal nature of BlaBlaCar transports is an innominate contract. In this context, the applicable liability rules in case of a car accident during a BlaBlaCar transport in Turkey were determined.
