Özet: With this study, the stages of wedding wrestling, which has an important place in traditional sports in Malatya region, in the historical process and its current situation were tried to be determined. In the research, literature on the subject was searched and a semi-structured form was created to collect data by taking expert opinion in this direction. In the study, 20 people were reached by using the snowball sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling method, in determining the source persons, and data on wedding wrestling were obtained from these people. The obtained data took its final form using document and discourse analysis. Wedding wrestling, read / invitation, awards, wrestling field, water dispenser, clothing, music, boys / categories, wrestling days, fielder, pesrev, referee, master-apprentice relationship, tool, food In addition to rituals such as taking shalwar, and game rules, wrestlers who have wrestled are discussed under 17 subtitles. Wedding wrestling was held in four weights as foot, middle, head and head in Malatya's Darende district until the last quarter of the twentieth century and in Kuluncak, Yeşilyurt, Battalgazi, Hekimhan, Akçadağ and Doğanşehir as a single weight in almost every wedding. After these dates, no wedding wrestling has been encountered with the effect of the cultural change process.
