Özet: Cotton is the most abundant of all naturally occurring organic substrates and is widely used. Several classes of dye can be successfully applied to the cotton fibers. The dyes used to decorate cotton with different colours can sometimes be employed for testing to detect chemical or physical changes in cotton or differences among cotton fibers. It has been used to help determine the quality of cotton at all stages from the growing boll to final stages of dyeing. The aim of this study is to study the removal of colour pollutions in dye bath with anionic(tannin) mordant. Two pre-treatment methods ( non-mordanting, pre-mordanting) and one mordant were tested. The results indicate that the cotton fabrics get yellow and yield better results with respect to both light and fastness when applied by the optimized pre-mordanting method.
