Özet: Economic models are based on the rationality of the individual. However, the assumption of perfect rationality began to be questioned because of the destabilization of the economies and the crises that lived. Behavioral economics, which argues that people have limited rationality and that their results are far from perfect, try to base the mainstream economic models on more realistic axioms. Behavioral economics, an emerging discipline, argues that rationality is an exception, not a general explanation, as opposed to the mainstream economic tradition, which claims that rationality can be observed in all decisions an individual makes. Limited choices, mental or physical abilities or limited knowledge and intuitive tendencies; causing the individual to make non-rational decisions. Mainstream economic views argue that people do not accept boundaries because they regard them as perfect rationalists, or that the boundaries can be removed by rational activities. This work adopts the view of studies claiming that perfect rationality is an exception. Therefore, in this study, a collection of studies claiming that the individual is not rational will be made. In this study, the intuitive tendencies confirming the existence of bounded rationality and the prejudices and the behavioral economics literature revealing how the decision making process deviates from the rationality will be examined and the findings of behavioral economics will be presented as proof that the individual is not rational. While many studies on the behavioral economics literature have been done before, this study has undertaken the task of being a source of information for every person questioning rationality, a summary of the literature in this area. It is thought that the claim of bounded rationality as a result of the findings of behavioral economics is more realistic and revealing
