Özet: Understanding the dynamics and its economic, social, and economic implications of capital accumulation is one of the most important and alive areas in the social sciences. The different conceptual, theoretical backgrounds and analysis tools used in searching for an answer on this subject have created a wide literature. The world-system approach put forward by Wallerstein was also one of the approaches that had a great impact on the social sciences literature especially during 1970-1990, but it was largely neglected, especially in the 2000s. However, it is still an approach that will be able to provide important tools in understanding the continuities and transformations in the world economy, historicize the actors and which allows to create interdisciplinary interaction. For this reason, in this study, the fundamentals of the world-systems approach have been opened for discussion. In this direction, a framework has been put forward on how to re-evaluate theoretical criticism against the approach and to re-synthesize the world-system approach for the macro history studies in the 21st century.
