Özet: As social media applications such as Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat have become a routine of daily life, self-presentations and storytelling have also been adapted and become digitalized. Individuals uses the story feature that started with Snapchat and then become quickly a part of other social media applications as a medium for sharing parts of their daily lives with videos, boomerangs or photos with additional tools such as text, GIF, hashtag and location etc. Individuals can create their own stories and make self-presentations in these digital environments where the user becomes the producer at the same time. The research focuses on the self-presentation methods of Influencers' temporary stories that disappears at the end of the 24-hour period on Instagram. Qualitative content analysis has been used in the research. Temporary stories in a certain time period of 14 Influencers that was chosen with snowball methodology has been analysed with categories built on Barthes’ narrative analysis and subcategories shaped by Instagram’s story-sharing tools. The main focus of the study was to understand the characteristics of Instagram stories, how users create their content using these characteristics and how they tell their stories, and identify the most commonly used elements and methods for presenting the self in temporary stories. The main question “How do Influencers express themselves and present their selves in temporary stories?” and sub-questions shaped around this question have been asked and answered in research section. According to the findings of the study, Influencers presented their selves with a high percentage of photographs and videos and additional texts they added to their stories and shared their updates with their followers in almost half of their stories. In an interactive environment like Instagram, Influencers did not fully interact with their followers in their stories and chose to make self-presentation by only showing themselves in most of the stories.
