Özet: Abstract Drama as a teaching method is defined as the acting of an event, experience, situation, concept, or object by a group of students while teaching topics in various subject fields such as history, language, and mathematics. One of the techniques used in drama is dramatization. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of teaching learning theories through dramatization on teacher candidates’ academic achievement and to reveal their opinions toward this technique. For this reason, a pretest-posttest control group quasi experimental design study was carried out with 130 teacher candidates. 62 were in experimental and 68 were in the control group. Data were collected through an achievement test and dramatization technique evaluation scale. It was observed that prospective teachers in the experimental group were more successful than those in the control group. Moreover, prospective teachers in the experimental group expressed that dramatization had positive effects on their learning, individual development, and learning environment. Additionally, throughout this study, the prospective teachers individually experienced the effects of dramatization by practicing it before they use this technique in their courses in the future.
