Özet: Abstract This study aims to analyze teachers’ views on the attainment of the goals of the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade Turkish Literature Course Curriculum (2011) in Secondary Education. This study was designed as a qualitative research study and a grounded theory approach was used and to collect data, interviews were conducted. 25 Turkish Language and Literature teachers working in the central districts of Sivas and Amasya were interviewed. The content analysis method was employed for data analysis. As a result, four themes (i.e. educational mentality, quality of textbooks, personal effort, and social activities) were formed. Codes associated with these themes were: intensive curriculum, information-oriented education, attitudes towards courses based on YGS and LYS [tests for transition to higher education], and inadequacy of texts and exercises. Based on these themes and codes, it was noted that obstacles against the achievement of the curriculum goals were the texts in literature textbooks, excessive information load, and intensive curriculum.
