Özet: Certain rules are established in order to temper the behaviours, rights and responsibilities of individuals who constitute the society and every individual has to respect those rules. The right of every individual to live makes it necessary to limit their behaviour. Activities in business life has become complicated with the industrialisation and violation of rights appear occasionally. Alongside the law, it is possible to prevent these violations by addressing the conscience and morality of individuals. Therefore, morality, business ethics and the effect of business ethics on business life gains utmost importance. Ensuring efficiency and productivity in today’s business life is possible by integrating business ethics inherent in our culture with the universal values of the modern world and thus obtaining synergy. This paper focuses on akhism (ahi) institution which dates back to the 13th century and fütüvvet which is the basis of akhism.
