Özet: Procrastination, as a form of self-regulation failure, is giving rise to unintended consequences and becoming a prevalent threat both for employees and the organizations. Although procrastination is frequently linked with employees' personality traits, it is known that organizational elements have an impact on procrastination as well. Nevertheless, it is seen that few studies considered the impact of both personality traits and organizational elements on procrastination together. From this point forth, the aim of the study is to determine the impact of external locus of control as a personality trait and role conflict as an organizational issue on procrastination. The theoretical framework of the article is based on social learning theory and self-regulation theory. Data was gathered from 224 private sector employees by survey method. The results of the structural equational model analysis indicated that both external locus of control and role conflict have positive effects on procrastination.
