Özet: The inclusion of care in the design of cities to have sufficient and accessible equipment to meet the right to care and be cared for continues to be a challenge. In Mexico, advances have been made about this right, but they are not enough since they are local or very general achievements. This research takes as a reference the urban growth in the State of Mexico, from the mass production of housing through the figure of urban complexes, which are presented as an integral spatial unit, beyond the simple production of housing. The objective of this article is to present a characterization of the equipment for care in an urban complex of social and popular interest in the municipality of Zumpango, belonging to the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico. Methodologically, a documentary, theoretical and official document investigation was carried out, proceeding deductively to contextualize the object of study, that is, the care equipment. Also, the 2020 Population Census was used, and for the field investigation, tours were carried out within the urban complex. The results are presented with a descriptive analysis. Among the findings, it was found that, although this urban complex could be considered proactive in terms of equipment for care, it is predominantly focused on children, leaving out other populations, mainly the elderly, denoting planning for the short term.
