Anahtar Kelimeler:Postmodernism; epistemology; categorical error; plot fallacy
Özet: Epistemologically, postmodern thought is characterized by ideas based on subjectivism and sociological, political or cultural determinism. It accuses the excesses of rationalism and approaches reality from the senses and personal experiences, emotions and feelings. It emphasizes personal satisfaction and hedonism, appealing also to freedom within law and democracy to establish opinions or personal senses as valid forms of knowledge; thus incurring in some categorical errors or argumentative fallacies in the analysis of ideas and facts. This article presents and confronts different expressions of postmodern thought postulated by some of its main representatives. Among them we have G. Vattimo who exhibits his philosophical and critical vision of science and truth; and on the other hand we present M. Foucault with his postmodern critical analysis of discourses and power.
