Özet: Mathematics is a science that is constantly linked to various areas of knowledge and application at the educational level, since the aim is for students to recognize its meaning and importance. In Mexico there are low rates in the management of mathematics in the resolution of situations or mathematical problems; therefore, it is necessary to see how all areas of knowledge converge in sustainable social development, this is possible by linking all areas. Through a documentary analysis, it was found that linking mathematics content to sustainable social development issues is possible, through a teaching exercise, a detailed review of the topics carried out in the basic education curriculum and the implementation of the socio-educational approach within the classrooms. The conclusion is that mathematics can be linked to sustainable development through the socio-educational approach.
