Özet: The eighties of the twentieth century marked a turning point in the way in which the Peruvian sociologist had understood a way of approaching the problems of Peru and Latin America. It is from this moment on that the problem of modernity will appear as a central element of any discussion on the problems of democracy, identity, capitalism in Latin America and is also the bet for what at that time called the reoriginalización. In the present work, the idea of Quijano is analyzed that the modernity underwent a metamorphosis and also what denominated like the knot arguediano of Latin America.
