Özet: From the notion of historical horizons proposed by Silvia Rivera, this paper shows how the cultural memory of a nation as Bolivia must explore in the coexistence of epistemic frames so different articulated in the notion of mestizaje. In this category is intersected the notions of short-memory (liberal-populist) and long memory (colonial). The concept of mestizaje ch’ixi exhibits the problematic cohabitation of these historical horizons. From the analectical perspective proposed by Enrique Dussel, this study examine the logic of coexistence existing in the concept of ch’ixi, in which the common is finally the past, the true otherness is the past/memory, the supposedly overcome in front of the eyes of epistemic domination, and the distinct is the way to assimilate the time of domination, the time of the homogeneous identity, which recreate the subject of Western citizenship.
