Özet: Identity conflict existing in Dominican Republic has caused the invisibility of afro-descendant peoples in this country. The discourse utilized by the political and intellectual elites of the country has bred the self-denial and the rejection of differences issues of the afro-descendant culture such us beauty, customs, religion, culture, etc. Moreover, this discourse has created a social and cultural divide which confronts people who advocate the respect for the afro-descendant culture and its right agent people who reject them. It discussing the current identity conflict through the speech which makes afro-descendence invisible and on the other hand, the response of different groups and activists. Therefore this has been divided in several topics to discuss the way they are exposed and which are some of the channels of dissemination.
