Özet: To move towards a horizon of intercultural dialogues, inter-ethnic coexistence, as well as “good living” in our America, it is necessary to take into account how both indigenous and Afro-descendant conditions in the region have historically been constructed. This work uses some contributions from Aníbal Quijano and Bolívar Echeverría, specifically the concepts of the racial classification of the population and whiteness respectively. From the intersection of both concepts, various philosophical and theoretical are formulated approaches to the indigenous and Afro-descendant conditions that operate from the beginning of the colonial process until today, as well as the fictions that have been imposed on them through the process of subalternization. In this way it is possible to visualize the situations we want to overcome and where we should move forward in the search for “good living”.
