Özet: Does it make sense for the left return to Marx? The context that neoliberalism bequeaths is structurally adverse to re-read it. Despite this, the collapse of neoliberalism arouses the interest to return to it. The current oppression creates a unique possibility to comprehend innovatively the most complex arguments of the total critique of bourgeois society. However, the reform of neoliberalism pushes towards a false dilemma: pragmatically addressing only the immediate and urgent new tasks instead of the general and long-term needs. As both are necessary, the solution to the antinomy forces us to remember the revolutionary context that forged the immediate need for this theoretical criticism of society. To settle the belief that the current left suffers a crisis due to lack of referents, it is explained how this total critique of the present is necessarily a total critique of history that defines perspectives of action in the short and long term.
