Özet: The indexes carried out by international organizations are done with the purpose of determining, observing, and analyzing the financial, economic, social, human, military and similar capacities of countries according to their subjects. Each of these indexes consists of data prepared by specialized staff and collected by these organizations through various stakeholders. The institutions that make the assessment use methods/criteria varying according to the subjects they deal with. The results obtained from the indexes give clues about the predictable future according to the research subject. One of the important indexes realized by international organizations is the Ease of Doing Business Index (Doing Business). In the “Ease of Doing Business Index” prepared annually since 2003 by the World Bank, a series of regulations affecting the ease of doing and establishing business and in 190 countries (as of 2020) are examined within the framework of 11 sets of indicators. In this study, the situation of South Africa, the country with the most developed economy and at the same time one of the largest economies of the African continent, in the world and in the region in the period of 2016-2020 was analyzed and evaluated according to the Doing Business Index and forward, looking recommendations were made.
