Epiphytic lichen diversity on Populus tremula L. (European aspen) in Uludağ mountain (Bursa)

Özet: A total of 40 epiphytic lichen species were found on Populus tremula. A total of 30 species were collected from the trunk base and 37 species from on the tree trunk at 150 cm above the ground. The most common species with the frequency of occurrence on the trees, respectively were Lecidella elaeochroma, Melanohalea exasperatula, Caloplaca Cerina, Bacidia subincompta, Phlyctis argena, Physcia leptalea, Hypogymnia tubulosa and Lecanora hagenii. The differences in the epiphytic lichen diversity between the base and trunk of Populus tremula is statistically significant, but is not statistically significant depending on the direction and circumference of tree trunk.
