Özet: In today's world of technology, social media is gaining more importance day by day and social media applications, which have become popular culture elements, are especially common among young people. As a result of this becoming widespread, many social media applications are emerging and trying to gain a place among other social media. However, regardless of whether it is a new or old social media application, after a certain point, all social media channels intertwine and each social media platform copies each other and even connects to each other, even if it is not noticed. As an indicator of this connection, a single company, such as Facebook, can buy more than one social media. In this study, titled "Criticism of TikTok Trends on Social Media: Examining Criticism Made on Twitter", the criticisms of the social media application called TikTok, which is especially popular among young people, on Twitter, another social media application, were examined. While examining these criticisms, Habermas's Public Sphere theory is evaluated as a "digital" public sphere as a theoretical framework, and literature review and semiotic analysis methods are preferred as a method. The reason for this study is that Turkish studies on TikTok are very limited. Because it is observed that TikTok has an unstoppable rise in daily life, and despite this, the fact that Turkish literature remains in the background is considered an academic defect. For this reason, there was a need to do this study, and although the academic literature is behind on TikTok, it has been observed that it is on the agenda through many different social media networks in daily life.
