Özet: The purpose of this research is to determine the fluent reading levels of primary school students studying in multigrade class and to examine them according to different variables. Within the framework of this general purpose, the problem sentence of the research is "Is there a difference between the fluent reading skills of primary school students according to gender and the status of helping families in reading activities?" constitutes the question. This study was carried out in 2 multigrade class schools in the central districts of Kayseri. First classes are not included in the study by using purposeful and appropriate sampling method. In the research, it was carried out with a total of 42 students who reached literacy level. After determining the general reading levels of students, t-test analysis was conducted for independent groups in order to determine the situations of fluent reading skills such as gender and helping family variables. As a result of the study, it was observed that there was no significant difference between the groups in terms of the total number of words read (TOKS), the number of words read correctly (DOKS) and the correct reading percentages (DOY) among the school students of the multigrade class. In addition, it is seen that there is no significant difference in terms of the number of words read correctly and the number of words read correctly, while there is a significant difference in terms of correct reading percentage according to the help of the students. It was determined that students who were helped in their families had a higher reading percentage than students who were not helped.
