Özet: The article deals with the analysis of development of competences for information society in Lithuania, by looking into the importance and impact of these competences to the employability and employment. It starts with the definition of the competences for information society and disclosing the relationships of these competences to other generic competences. The empirical research part presents the results of survey of employees, unemployed persons and retired persons on their perceptions of the importance of competences of information society for employability and personal life.
