Özet: The purpose of this research is to determine the young-adult males of the TRNC about a temporary self-perceptions of military service, and to investigate whether there is significant differentiation in terms of some variables.The study includes 304 young adult males between the ages of 18-25 who have been in temporary military service in North Cyprus.As a means of data collection; Gilbert, developed in 1991 and in 1993 by Allan and Trent, Sahin, adapted by Durak and Şahin, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of 0.89, "Social Comparison Scale".SPSS program was used to analyze the data. For the data, the arithmetic mean, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and t-test was applied. In this study, the level of significance was taken as 0.05.As a result, sub-items of social comparison "insufficient-sufficient" to mean score was lower in the article. "Inadequate-adequate" scores of the article to be education, income, and mother are alive-not to hope for the future according to the variables found to differ significantly. "Poor-sufficient" in determining the factors that influence the perception of being, the focus group interview data were analyzed in the light. Accordingly, the "out-sufficient," the perception of being "Family and Social Factors", "Vocational Guidance" and "Political Factors" can be classified under three main headings.
