Özet: This study aims to state perceptions of a group of high school students on parental emotional abuse. The research sample consists of 227 male students at the same high school. "Emotional Abuse Scale"(EAS), developed by Kars (1999), was used as the data collection instrument. In order to analyze the data, the percentages of the students' answers were calculated. Percentage distribution of answers given to emotional abuse scale questions, which are related to their parents, by the students in the sample has been shown. Results have indicated parental emotional abuse perceived by the youngsters can be categorized as "denial" and "incentive for crime".The study has shown that the parents have difficulties in establishing effective communication and empathy with their children and in guiding them, and that the youngsters perceive their parents' behaviors abusive.
