Özet: The aim of this study is to search the reasons for primary school teachers preferences and to take their ideas about the education they take. Identifying why the students enrolled the faculty of education prefer this occupation and students’ ideas about their own education is important in terms of benefits of the teacher training programs in faculty of education and in terms of seaching whether a difference happens in the reasons for their preferences in years and in terms of evaluating the given education. Data were analyzed descriptively in this study in which quantiative research techiniques were used. Ideas of the candidates were obtained by using opinionarie. Seven faculties of education from seven different geographic regions were selected as the sample group through the cluster sampling method. The sample consisted of 588 students from seven different universities, 401 of whom (68%) were females, and 187 of whom (32%) were males. Frequency and percentage rates were given by means of the data taken from the candidates. By analyzing the data about the reasons for primary school teacher candidates’ preferences, some codes were done, then these codes were named. The results taken from the analyzed data were commented according to findings.
