The purpose of this research is to determine the metaphorical perceptions of the primary and secondary school teachers about inspection. The study group is included of 157 teachers working in the primary and secondary schools in the central districts of Gaziantep in 2009–2010 academic years. The data were collected by semi-structured interview form and was prepared by researchers and analyzed by "content analysis" model. According to the findings of the study, primary school teachers developed the total of 34 metaphors and secondary school teachers developed the total of 38 metaphors. Three different conceptual metaphors in terms of common characteristics of this category (as a case study, as the evaluator and as the developer inspection), were identified. As a result, teachers in primary and secondary schools develop metaphors and "inspections" were perceived by most as the case study.
