Özet: The aim of this study is to present the impact of using mathematical language within a general perspective while learning mathematical terms and concepts in the process of mathematics courses which has an important role in the person’s education life. In this study, usage of mathematical language, the importance of the mathematical language, and the relationship between mathematical language and teaching-learning process are introduced. With the point of this view, researches on mathematical language conducted both in our country and the world has been reviewed. There are found some shortcomings regarding literature review. Mathematical language is an element and factor of learning-teaching process and also it can be emphasized that in children we can both mention development of language and development of mathematical language in children if mathematical communication is not used in the process of teaching and learning mathematics while teaching mathematical knowledge and concepts to children it is mentioned that successful results cannot be achieved. In mathematics courses, teachers should be able to know and explain mathematical language in conceptual way and should make the whole math class process considering students development of mathematical language.
