Özet: The aim of this study is to put forth the info regarding the problem solving of prospective mathematics teacher and to carry out action plan so they could prepare a valid problem. In the study, prospective mathematics teacher were made to conduct a group study. The course of special teaching methods was observed for five weeks and practices were fulfilled when necessary. Action research, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. Survey on problem solving process, preliminary and final assignments given to groups to prepare a valid problem and researcher observation reports were used as the means to gather data in the research. Survey on problem solving process was conducted on all the prospective teachers regardless of groups and content analysis was used in analyzing the obtained data. Content analysis was also used in analyzing preliminary and final assignments and researcher observations which were requested from prospective teachers to carry out similarly as a group. In wake of the actions conducted in the study, problem preparing skills of prospective teachers seemed to improve.
