Özet: The purpose of this research is to investigate the opinions of geography teachers regarding the approaches of education inspectors towards the lesson observation. The universe of the research consists of the geography teachers working in the secondary education in Morphou in the 2015-2016 academic year. The sampling group of the research was composed of 3 geography teachers working in the secondary education selected by convenience sampling method. The chosen teachers were individually interviewed and the prepared questions were asked. The approaches of education inspectors towards teachers in lesson observation were determined in line with the answers received from the geography teachers. According to the conducted study, it has been stated that inspectors observe the lesson according to the lesson plan, the lesson preparation performed by teacher and teaching of lesson rather than observing the supporting and guidance features of teachers in every matter. The most striking point of the teachers' criticism is that the education inspectors of different fields observe the geography lesson and the duration of observation is only one lesson. It is necessary for education inspectors to visit the educational institutions for a certain period of time, to find out the deficiencies, the effectiveness of the education and teaching provided, to determine whether it is appropriate for the purpose and to find solutions to the problems in cooperation with teachers. Defending the professional rights of teachers and inspectors, directing them to conduct useful activities for themselves, evaluating all aspects of the staff in educational institutions and giving them feedback contributes to both teachers and students in terms of their success improvement.
