Özet: With the awareness of the difficulties in learning the subjects of physics lessons, it is seen that start to use contemporary methods of physical educators. One way to understand how effective these contemporary approaches, which are alternative to traditional methods, to take the views of the students. The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of 8th Grade Science and Technology course’s students trained by the case study method on states of matter and heat. The study group consists 40 students in the 8th grade of a public school in the province of Diyarbakır in the academic year 2016-2017. Qualitative research methodology has been adopted in the study. The opinions of the students were taken through a written interview form consisting of 5 questions. The answers given by the students trained by the case study method on states of matter and heat to the interview questions are divided into categories and these categories were interpreted with percentage and f values. In the analysis of the received data using SPSS 21.0 software package was used. According to the findings of the study; It became clear that students trained by the case study method on states of matter and heat subject generally liked the method of case study, but they stated that there were some disruptions.
