Özet: This research is designed to investigate the reasons for the drop in the success rate in state secondary schools. The questionnaire used in the study covers 30 questions in parallel with the main purpose of the research and it was applied to overall 50 teachers and also to 100 students who are 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade in Lefke Gazi High School and Cengiz Topel Occupational High School in Lefke District of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 2016-2017 education year. Using the survey for the reasons of the drop in success rate, frequencies and percentages were calculated, tabled and then analyzed respectively. Findings obtained in the research are grouped into two main categories; the reasons for the drop in the success rate concerning the teacher sand the reasons for the drop in the success rate regarding the students.
