Özet: This study which analysis the transformation of media during the historical process and depending on that the differentiation of the newsworthiness concept, focuses on the importance level of extremenesses as newsworthiness. Extremeness is a broad concept, and for this reason its scope is restricted to sex within the scope of this study and newsworthiness Doktora Öğrencisi, Gazi Üniversitesi, Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü, Halkla İlişkiler ve Tanıtım ABD of sex is emphasized. In order to make assessment and evaluation, two foreign nongovernmental organizations which put forward sex element at their activities so as to take place in media, are selected and the news content and frequency of these NGO’s actions in the newspapers in our country are examined.
