Özet: Mass communication vehicles are becoming increasingly more diversified as they fulfill their functions. Each day, thousands of messages are reaching their recipients through them. It is impossible to think of the messages circulating apart from the economic system and ideological atmosphere in which they exist. This system and atmosphere are drenched with the dominate values and play an active role in the production of gender. This study uses the ideological conceptualization of Althusser to discuss the relationship between vehicles of mass communication, gender and ideology. Examining the relationship between the dominant male ideology of vehicles of mass communication, which shape the gender regime, is important for understanding how they contribute to gender-based standards and judgments.
