Özet: As the popularity of social media rises, Twitter use in the workplace is becoming widespread. However, empirical research on Twitter use by employees is rare. In this study, an investigation was made of the effect on corporate image of employees as Twitter users. With this aim, a survey was performed on 443 Twitter users from different cities in Turkey, evaluating the relation between the use of Twitter by employees and corporate image. According to the results of the study, more than half of the study participants thought that employees’ tweets had no effect on corporate image. However, according to a group of participants, tweets which contained racist expressions, slang and insults had a negative effect on corporate image. In addition, study participants definitely rejected the idea of controlling Twitter accounts and the punishment of employees.
