Özet: The intense competitive environment starting with globalization has made harder to implement successful succession processes among generations for family firms in developing economies. Because of that, starting from the late 1990’s, some large family firms in developing economies have made some attempts to complete their some basic institutionalization applications for their both firms and families, and to prepare their own family constitutions. Such attempts have spread through, first, among the largest family firms, and then, among the other large family firms in those economies. In this study, the family constitutions of three large family firms located in the city of İzmir, that were prepared after the year, 2001 economic crisis, and have still been in effective, were examined, discussed, and compared to. In addition to that, this study emphasized some negative impacts of consequent economic crises on those family constitutions by keeping the names of those family firms as anonymous
