Özet: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether location where a firm resides affects the probability of becoming an exporter of firm. The study uses data of 11.748 firms located in eight provices in Aegean Region. Results show that probability of becoming an exporter of firms located in economically and socially developed regions is greater than the ones located in relatively underdeveloped regions, increase in population does not have a significant effect on odds of becoming an exporter. Increase in the number of firms in the region does not significantly enhace the possibility of becoming an exporter. Establishment of organized industrial zone has positive effect on firms. Turkey’s investment incentive system has adverse effect on the firms located in underdeveloped provinces
