Özet: In this study, we examine the causality running from terrorist attacks to the gender inequality in education at provincial level for Turkey. Estimation results indicate that terrorist attacks increases the gender inequality at high school level, but not at primary school level. According to estimation results non-linear relation between terrorism and gender gap in education suggests that terror attacks strongly increases gender gap in education at provinces that are distant to provinces where terrorist attacks frequently occurs. Additionally, estimation results indicate that increasing conservatism lead to gender gap in education, however, education, income level and immigration does not significantly affect gender gap in education.
