Özet: Probation within criminal justice system is predominantly designed to serve for adult prisoners. Although the number of children subjected to probation increases day by day, 5% of the children have benefited from probation by 2015. For this reason, practices towards children within probation are conducted as a system for adults but available also for children. Since each child develops in a unique way and has special needs, he/she should be treated independently of adults. As a result of misperception of children as a younger model of adults, it is almost impossible for children programs to be successful without participation of the child and his/her family; without pre-assessment in line with person-in-environment perspective. Though being managed within criminal justice system, in its essence, probation is kind of practices requiring social work intervention. By not involving his/her family and social environment or not implementing a planned change process in the context of social policy, working only with juvenile delinquents will be inadequate. Social work aims to empower individuals and families who cannot fulfil their social roles thanks to micro, mezzo and macro interventions towards the child and his/her social environment with holistic perspective. This article presents suggestions to reconstruct psycho-social services within juvenile delinquency probation. The phases of planned change process to improve well-being of child in terms of social work is evaluated through sample cases.
