Özet: In the study, it was aimed to determine the perceptions of 3rd grade students towards creativity through metaphors. In the research, the scientific pattern, one of the qualitative research patterns, was used. The study group of the research consists of 65 grade education 3rd grade teacher candidates studying at a university in the Black Sea Region. In order to reveal the perceptions of pre-service teachers who participated in the study towards the concept of creativity, these sentence was asked each of them to complete “Creativity …… Because ……… ”. The analysis of the data obtained was subjected to content analysis. According to the findings obtained as a result of the research, 65 pre-service teachers produced 40 metaphors. When the metaphors were analyzed, they were gathered in 7 categories with common characteristics such as "difference", "originality", "product", "brightness and color", "infinity", "transcending borders", "activity".
