Özet: Coastal areas are among the most preferred areas by people from past to present with their potentials. For this reason, it is always seen as a positive value for tourism, industry, transportation, and recreational activities. These areas provide social, economic and cultural contributions to the city and its residents, as they also enhance the quality of life on individuals. It is extremely important to consider and evaluate the thermal comfort conditions in recreational areas, which have important effects on improving the quality of life of the citizens. Especially, recreational areas created in coastal cities through embankment constructions are frequently preferred by individuals. Therefore, while planning such areas the climate components of humidity, radiation, wind and temperature parameters, should be evaluated in terms of bioclimatic comfort. The aim of this study is to examine the recreational areas in the coastline in terms of bioclimatic comfort conditions and evaluate them in terms of recreational planning.
