Özet: The aging of the population in the world and in our country has made geriatric palliative care an urgent public health priority. In most societies, the number of elderly population has increased, and the complex needs of elderly individuals cannot be met at the desired level. The development and improvement of palliative care systems increases the quality of life of the people who are nearing the end of their life, improves their dignity and provides support to their family and friends. The nurse is a professional member of the geriatric palliative care team. The nurse has important roles and responsibilities in managing the palliative care of the elderly person and his family at the end of life.  The aim of this article is to examine the versatility of geriatric palliative care, where, when, how and by whom. It is thought that clarifying these questions will contribute to healthcare providers and policy makers in the development of geriatric palliative care.
