Özet: This study aims to determine the trends of dissertations written in the textbooks of social studies education. Of the 122 postgraduate theses that are assessed, 114 of them are master’s theses, and 8 of them are doctoral theses. This study was designed following the document analysis model which is among the qualitative research model, and content analysis is used to evaluate the theses. After completing the evaluations within the scope of the first research study, we found out that the highest number of postgraduate theses were published in 2019 and prepared at Gazi University. Secondly, it is seen that the “opinion” dimension is mostly addressed and the most used the document analysis method in theses. Lastly, validity and reliability methods that are applied in theses are reviewed and the result shows that researchers apply to expert’s opinions mostly.
