Özet: This study was performed to compare and determine the suitable mixtures of planting methods for the sainfoin (Onobrychis sativa Lam.), smooth bromegrass (Bromus inermis Leyss.), intermediate wheatgrass (Agropyron cristatum (Host.) Beauv.) and their combination with mixtures rates were chosen under investigation. The research was designed in split-split design with three replications. The sowing methods were used (broad casting, 30, 45, and 60 cm rowspacing) in main plots while, legumes+grasses mixtures rates were used (100, 75, 50, 25, and 0) in sub-plot in the spring of 1994 at there search fields of Agriculture Faculty of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University in Turkey. The results in 1995 and 1996 years, indicated that, fresh herbage yields of sainfoin, smooth bromegrass and intermediate wheat grass produced 2455.0, 1125.7 and 1155.9 kg da-1 , hay yields and were 631.4, 368.1 and 362.5 kg da-1 , in addition, the crude protein rates were 14.74%, 8.16% 8.56% and crude protein yields were 100.0, 28.3 and 31.4 kg da-1 , respectively. The highest crude protein rate (12.90%) was produced from sainfoin+smooth  mixture. Sowing methods were significantly influenced of forage, hay and protein yields of species and mixtures. The casting method produced 2021.5 kg da-1 fresh herbage yields, 553.0 kg da-1 hay yield, 73.4 kg da-1 crude protein yield. In the rowspacing of 30, 45 and 60 cm were, 2108.2, 1838.9 and 1549.0 kg da-1 fresh herbage yields; 555.3, 510.9 and 415.8 kg da-1 hay yields; 75.0, 66.0 and 52.9 kg da-1 crude protein yields. Accordingly, 30 cm row spacing in sainfoin achieved the highest freshand hay herbage yields as well as protein yields while the row spacing with 45 cm in the smooth bromegrass.
