Özet: A zikr type called sema is performed in the form of “Mukabele” in Mevlevi tradition. WhileMevlevis perform sema in their own axis and around the square in a broader perspectivekeeping their right hands up and left hands down, mutrıb play the works of religious music in Ayin form. Mevlevi Ayins consist of four selams. Rhythmic changes and maqaminterchanges (geçki) in selams help zikr to go on in harmony. History has witnessed manyAyin-i Şerif some of which, because of their high art value, were demanded and transmitted to next generations but the others were not even performed as they did not have a high artvalue. One of the ayins which was able to survive is the Ayin-i Şerif composed by Itri in Maqam Segâh of which we have six different noted versions . In this study, allversions of this particular ayin will be subjected to a comparison using the perception ofmaqam segah in the 17thand 18thcenturies which aims to determine the differences thatoccurred in this 80-year period
