Özet: In this study, Rotating Thin Film Coating (RTFC) system designed and tested for applicability. System components based on the Arduino-UNO R2 platform consists of a hard drive (HDD) motor, motor drive unit and a rotating unit integrated in it. The substrate can be rotate at a constant speed of 3000 rpm for 30 seconds with appropriate step values and time intervals with the RTFC system designed and produced in the laboratory environment. The properties of the system were tested for magnesium oxide (MgO) thin film deposition process on the glass substrate and it has been observed that the thin film produced has the expected physical properties. 0.1M magnesium acetate tetrahydrate (Mg (CH3COO) 2.4H2O) salt, dissolved in alcohols, was used as the source of Mg. MgO thin film was deposited sequentially in a single layer, two layers, three layers and four layers using with the home-made RTFC system where sequential coatings can be made. After each coating process, the sample in the film / substrate structure was subjected to intermediate heating at 100 ° C for 30s. The film thicknesses of the thin film sample obtained from the optical transmittance spectra in the range of 300-800 nm with an iterative technique were calculated as 30 nm for single layer film and 119 nm for four layered film.
